The Tempest
The Tempest is one of Shakespeare's late plays, a romance-comedy about the magician Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, who, after being usurped and exiled, uses magic to conjure a storm to maroon his enemies on a remote island, leading to plots of revenge, love between his daughter Miranda and the King's son Ferdinand, and eventual forgiveness and restoration of his dukedom. The Tempest is often seen as a farewell to the stage for both Prospero and Shakespeare himself.
The performance will be outdoors at Tenney House (47 Tenney Hill Road) in Monson on July 25th at 2pm. Tickets are $14 general admission, $12 for Theatre members, and $8 for kids under 14. (Rain date Sunday, July 26th at 2pm)
